Message from the Chairperson

Eileen Dougherty, CTFA, CFP®, AEP®, ChFC®
Hawthorn - PNC Family Wealth
Philadelphia, PA
Dear Fellow AEP® Designees:
Summer is upon us! As we enjoy the season of vacations, family reunions, warm
weather fun, and sharing photos with friends and family, it's also a great time
to speak to your clients about reviewing their estate plans as they prepare for
their summer activities. Don't forget to include digital assets in the
conversation! Speaking of digital assets, the next webinar in the Robert G.
Alexander Webinar Series is "Your Clients May Not Be Cyborgs But You Still Must
Plan for Their Digital Assets," scheduled on July 8th at 3:00 pm ET. Don't miss
the opportunity to catch up on this developing area!
Now that we are half-way through 2015, it's a great time to focus on the AEP®
designation continuing education requirement to make sure you are keeping
records of the time you have invested in learning new techniques or brushing up
on the basics. The Robert G. Alexander Webinar Series is a great tool to fulfill
the yearly CE requirement and I encourage you to attend a program if you have
not already done so. If you can't make a live broadcast there is no need to
worry, replays of each program are available!
Finally, I have started to make arrangements to attend the
52nd Annual NAEPC Advanced Estate
Planning Strategies Conference with Pre-conference Sessions for Estate Planning
Council Leaders and hope you are too. Scheduled from November 18-20, 2015 in
Amelia Island, Florida, this program is our only opportunity each year to
connect with other designees from around the country. Airfare into Jacksonville
is currently very low; why not make your conference, flight, and hotel
reservations now? After all, this is YOUR conference...built by estate planners
for estate planners!
Educational Programming
NAEPC offers two types of educational programming—the
Annual NAEPC Advanced
Estate Planning Strategies Conference with special pre-conference sessions for
council leaders, the only in-person meeting each year, and monthly webinars
offered as a part of the Robert G. Alexander Webinar Series. Keep reading to
learn more.

Your Clients May Not Be Cyborgs But You Still Must Plan for Their Digital
Assets
Gerry W. Beyer, JD, LL.M., JSD, AEP® (Distinguished) Nominee

Prof. Beyer will offer guidance on the utility of comprehensive planning for
digital assets and will discuss issues that affect this set of assets, offer
estate planning options, analyze existing laws, and explore current and future
trends in this area.

School of Law. As a state and nationally recognized expert in estate planning,
Prof. Beyer is a highly sought after lecturer. He presents dozens of continuing
legal education presentations each year for many state and local bar
associations, universities, and civic groups. Prof. Beyer is the editor of the
most popular estate planning blawg in the nation which for the past five years
has been named to the ABA Journal's Blawg 100. He has authored and co-authored

Disinherit the IRS
Help
your clients Disinherit
the IRS
In today's competitive financial services industry, you need more than just a
license to sell insurance, securities, and investment products.
Studies on generational marketing reveal a different kind of decision-making
process is now taking place in America. The Greatest Generation is beginning to
pass its wealth to the Baby Boomer and X generations and this means your style
of sales will need to adapt if you want to build new relationships and gain
their trust.
Education is a key factor in marketing to these sophisticated clients. But it
takes more than just a slick product brochure. And while a generous expense
account can help you build a relationship over dinner, these consumers will need
more than just a nice conversation.
That's why Author and Family Wealth Preservation Specialist - E.
MICHAEL KILBOURN dusted off
his best-selling book Disinherit
the IRS, and rewrote it in 2014.
NAEPC members receive a 25% discount off the retail price by logging in to the
