Dennis A. Calfee
University of Florida
Dennis A. Calfee is a Professor of
Law at the University of Florida, Levin College of Law in
Gainesville, Florida. Dennis majored in accounting at Gonzaga
University. After a B.B.A. in 1968, he earned his J.D. from
Gonzaga's College of Law in 1972. While at Gonzaga he worked
part-time for the accounting firm of Brajcich and Loeffler and
then the Old National Bank Trust Department.
After obtaining his law degree,
Dennis clerked for the Honorable Dale Green on the Washington
State Court of Appeals. He received his Master of Law degree
in Taxation form the University of Florida College of Law in
1975 and was invited to remain as an interim professor for one
year. Professor Calfee is now in his 32nd year of teaching law
there.
Professor Calfee is a co-author
of "Federal Estate and Gift Taxation." Professor Calfee has
taught at Beijing University in China, Leiden University in
the Netherlands and the University of Montpellier in France.
Nineteen times, he has journeyed to Taiwan to teach for the
Ministry of Finance in their Academy of International
Taxation. Professor Calfee teaches courses in federal estate,
gift and generation-skipping transfer taxation and income
taxation of estates and trusts and serves as the faculty
advisor to the Florida Law Review. |
