Terri Getman, is Vice President, Advanced Marketing, for a large insurance carrier where she manages a team of professionals who help financial, legal and tax advisors with sophisticated life insurance arrangements. A graduate of the College of William and Mary, in Williamsburg, Va., Terri earned a juris doctorate in 1982 from Drake University School of Law and the CLU and ChFC designations from the American College shortly thereafter.

Since law school, she has pursued a career in the financial services. Early in her career she helped to establish a financial planning practice that was recognized by Money as one of the most respected firms in the United States. Terri may be best known for her frequent contributions to insurance industry publications and presentations on advanced life insurance topics. Over the past 20 years she has conducted over a 1,000 presentations on the use of life insurance in estate and business planning, including the national events for Million Dollar Round Table, Association of Advanced Life Underwriters, Society of Financial Service Professionals, National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, and the American Bar Association.

Terri served on the national Board of Directors for the Society of Financial Service Professionals and remains active in a number of its committees, including chairing its Estate Planning Section. She also chaired the LIMRA Advanced Sales Committee and is on the AALU Business Insurance and Estate Planning Committee.
