NAEPC Response to COVID-19

Dear Members, Sponsors & Friends:

NAEPC continues to carefully monitor guidance about the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).  The board of directors, in cooperation with our staff team, is following appropriate state and national guidance about managing business events.  We are incredibly grateful for the support of the association's members, councils, sponsors, and friends during these unprecedented times and have worked tirelessly to review the association’s activities and to continue provide value to our members; you can read more about these efforts within our most recent newsletters.  

NATIONAL OFFICE
Our national office is open with limited staffing with the remainder of the team is working from home.  During this time we remain committed to exceptional member service and ask for your patience with what may be minor delays with replies to both email and telephone messages. 

NATIONAL IN-PERSON EVENTS
The health and safety of in-person event attendees, members, sponsors, and guests is of utmost importance and the most critical issue currently in front of the association’s leadership.  

57th Annual NAEPC Advanced Estate Planning Strategies Conference
Over the last two months, the board has been focusing much of its energy and discussion on the feasibility of hosting a safe and successful 57th Annual NAEPC Advanced Estate Planning Strategies Conference, which was scheduled from November 3-6, 2020 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.  We have considered many factors, especially our ability to provide you with a safe and healthy environment, regularly-changing guidance from various state and national governing bodies, and, of course, the ongoing economic impact  to our members, presenters and sponsors. The Board of Directors has made a formal decision to cancel the annual conference.  We appreciate your allowing us the time to approach this decision thoughtfully and with the utmost of care.  While we are all disappointed, we truly believe the cancellation is in the best interest of all involved parties.

We will be hosting an exciting virtual conference on November 10, 2020 from 11:30 am ET – 5:00 pm ET.  Other components like the Council Awards Ceremony, Estate Planning Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, etc. will be handled separately within various virtual environments.  The program will provide a true “conference experience,” complete with an exhibit hall, sponsors and excellent presenters.  We will share regular updates within the various newsletters of NAEPC and you are always welcome to contact the national office for more information.

Regional Leadership Day 
Regional Council Leadership Day programs, which have historically taken place in June, began in August and conclude in September. 

SERVICE TO ESTATE PLANNING COUNCILS
Affiliated local estate planning councils are encouraged and welcome to contact NAEPC at any time for guidance with regard to hosting events, for sample text related to either member communication or holding events, or for resources with regard to hosting distance-based programming in place of in-person events.  We also hosted a series of Town Hall Roundtable sessions designed to address your most common and important concerns with regard to council operations in light of COVID-19.   Contact our office for more details.
